WalkWithYou is a national movement for Singapore, celebrating the joy we find when we walk with each other.
We are a group of friends and neighbours who heard a beautiful song—“I will walk with you” by Linying—and knew it belonged to a vision of the Singapore we dream of.
For SG60, we're asking all who call Singapore home to share stories of staying present with another. These aren't just stories about volunteering or charity, but of everyday moments when people choose to walk alongside each other as equals.
By sharing your #WaysToWalk story, you're showing Singapore that we all need people to walk with us, and we can all be people who walk with others. Your story could remind someone they're not alone.

Why are we doing this?
True community is not built on fleeting gestures but on the willingness to show up, time and again, where love conquers fear and frailties. WalkWithYou emphasises consistent commitment and genuine presence, which is particularly valuable in our technology-saturated world where authentic attention has become a rare gift.
-
We retreat into our individual silos and do not reach out due to fear of awkwardness or rejection.
But: we see the value of caring. Being cared for gives us the courage to step into community.
-
We make quick assessments that prevent genuine connection.
Nevertheless: We want to learn to see others with fresh eyes.
-
We doubt our ability to create meaningful change.
And now: We learn to appreciate our agency and recognise that small consistent actions can make a difference.
Three primary barriers currently keep Singaporeans apart:
WalkWithYou addresses these challenges by fostering mutuality in relationships. To walk with someone is not to lead or to follow, but to move side by side. It means adjusting our pace to another's, listening as much as we speak, and recognising that we are shaped by the people we choose to share life with.
Joy is our strength.
We want to leverage on the transformative power of joyful connection. When we experience being seen, valued and welcomed into relationships, it naturally reshapes how we see ourselves and others.
When we walk together in this way, we create the conditions for flourishing. Our capacity for growth and change expands dramatically and we build resilience against isolation and indifference.
